Got a need for speed? Watch these Power Tower match-ups from ANW season 11

Photo by: Lara Solanki/NBC/BCU Photo Bank We saw some interesting match-ups on the Power Tower this season. The fans have spoken. In a poll earlier this year, fans overwhelmingly voted in favor of the Power Tower and want to see it return next season. If you’ve forgotten what the Power Tower was about, let’s review: In each of the six Qualifying rounds, the two fastest finishers raced on the tower for the Speed Pass. It assured them a place at the National Finals, regardless of their performance in the City Finals. In fact, they could have skipped that course all […]

Lara Solanki/NBC Yesterday was World Kindness Day, so I wrote a post about a few of the things the Ninjas do on a regular basis to support each other and their communities. Then I asked fans on Instagram: How has the Ninja community inspired you? Here are some of their responses: Everyone who is involved with American Ninja Warrior should be proud of the community they’ve created. #ThrowbackThursday: Watch Jake Murray’s first ANW submission video

Photo by: Joe Robbins/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images Things got a little weird ahead of season 7. Since his first appearance on American Ninja Warrior in season 7, we have come to know Jake Murray as someone who will always do the unexpected (Remember the corn dog? The segway?) and will always make us laugh. But even knowing this about Jake, his first submission video might have you asking yourself “What did I just watch?” It’s part music video, part drama, and part athleticism—and it’s pretty spectacular. In season 7, Jake cruised through the Kansas City […]

We can’t get enough of these Akbarisms

Photo by: Matthew Hayward/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images Can we have a compilation of these every season, please? American Ninja Warrior fans never know what hilarious phrase is going to come out of Akbar Gbaja-Biamila’s mouth, but that’s half the fun of watching, right? The ANW host is so well-known for his witty quips that there’s an entire Twitter account dedicated to the fun and inspirational things he says. (If you’ve been following along for a while and wondering who’s behind the account, we cannot divulge their identity, but Nikki did score a super-secret interview in […]

Get to know the first brother/sister duo to make the ANW City Finals & Las Vegas

Photo by: Quantrell Colbert/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images Ninja is a family affair for the Bergstrom Bunch. Caitlyn and Caleb Bergstrom come from a family of Ninjas. “We actually submitted together, but my whole family has been doing Ninja. My dad did it last year, my brother did it last year. And so I guess just following along with the family tradition and just competing with my brother is just such a great experience,” Caitlyn told ANWN in an interview earlier this year. Caleb, 19, and Caitlyn, 21, also known as the “Baby Bergies,” are two […]

Drew Drechsel’s prize money plans and his next big goal

Photo by: David Becker/NBC After winning season 11 of American Ninja Warrior, Drew is working on his next big goal. After winning season 11 of American Ninja Warrior, it would be easy to check the box as mission accomplished and retire. But it should come as no surprise to dedicated ANW fans that Drew Drechsel believes he still has room for improvement. In a September interview, he told USA Today: “that word ‘perfect’ is something that I will forever strive for and never achieve. There’s always a way to be faster, more fluid, more efficient.” After seeing Drew speed through […]
